Qazi rejects Qaeda call to âremoveâ Gen Musharraf
Jamaat-e-Islami chief Qazi Hussain Ahmed has rejected Al Qaeda leader Ayman Al Zawahiriâs call for removing President Pervez Musharraf from power.
"Ayman! Are you nutz, talking like that?" | Talking to BBC, he said his party has no contact with any Qaeda leader.
"No, no! Certainly not! Oh, we rent them a room now and then, but we don't have any contact with them. They pay their rent, they're quiet, except for the gun battles..." | He added the extremist organization should not interfere in the internal politics of Pakistan. He said such a call could create problems in the countryâs political system.
"I mean, Perv might actually have me bumped off this time! I gotta weak heart, y'know?" |
