Somalia: Ethiopians arrest residents
(SomaliNet) The Ethiopian forces in the Somalia capital Mogadishu arrested seven people from Towfiq village in Yaqshid district, south of the capital following last nights bomb attack near the Ethiopian base in the Mogadishu soccer stadium in the capital. Witnesses told Somalinet that the Ethiopian forces raided houses near their base arresting seven men including old men this morning. After the dawn break, the Ethiopians stationing in the Mogadishu stadium soccer compound searched several houses near the site of last nights bomb blast, taking seven men from their houses, said Ali Duale. One of the detainees was later released, according to reports.
Duale added that two men threw a hand grenade bomb into a house near the Ethiopian base aiming to rob the houses property but the target of the blast was not the Ethiopians. The arrests came as the Somalias government soldiers continue massive security operations in and around the main Bakara market for the fifth day in row.
