Opp suspects conspiracy behind Tariqâs murder
Opposition parties in the National Assembly on Tuesday said Mondayâs murder of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) chief Maulana Azam Tariq might have been part of a âconspiracyâ to change the countryâs political scenario.
Ahah! Deep laid plots, is it? | They said Maulana Tariqâs and four companionsâ murders, in a âsensitive cityâ like Islamabad, was a failure of the law enforcement agencies. They demanded the officials responsible be identified and then resign to uphold moral and democratic traditions.
âWe seriously feel there is a conspiracy behind these tragic killings. We feel such incidents are being conducted because of constitutional problems as well as for changing the political scenario in the country,â Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) leader Liaqat Baloch told reporters at a press conference with other opposition leaders after the house was adjourned till Friday. When asked to elaborate, he said, âTime will explain everything.â
