'Pakistan next Qaeda centre'
 A majority of top US foreign policy experts say that Pakistan is most likely to become the next Al Qaeda stronghold and most likely to transfer nuclear technology to terrorists in the next three to five years, a new survey shows. According to the survey, 35 percent of the 108 experts polled by Foreign Policy magazine and the Centre for American Progress said that Pakistan was most likely to become the next Al Qaeda stronghold followed by Iraq 22 percent, Somalia 11 percent, Sudan 8 percent and Afghanistan 7 percent. Seventy-four percent of the experts said that Pakistan was most likely to transfer nuclear technology to terrorists. Forty-two percent said North Korea, thirty-eight percent said Russia, thirty-one percent said Iran and five percent said the US. Respondents were asked to name more than one country. A modest number of the experts favoured threatening Pakistan with sanctions. Yet about the same number support increasing US aid to the country. More than half of those surveyed believed the current US policy towards Pakistan was having a negative impact on national security.
