Liveleak: Israel "A Vast Wasteland" Before the Jews Came
I spoke with a Cypriot guy who claimed to have personally traveled through much of the land some time before the Jewish people really got going there. I doubt he really cared one way or the other so I figure he was probably telling the truth. He said he only came across one jewish woman who was working some land with a tractor. That was it.
