Morocco's king names prime minister
King Mohammed VI has chosen government minister Abbas el Fassi, 67, to replace Driss Jettou as Morocco's next prime minister. El Fassi, previously minister of state without portfolio, is leader of the nationalist Istiqlal (Independence) party, which became the biggest party in the country's lower house following the September 7 election. His party won 52 of the 325 seats available. One of his first tasks will be to propose a list of ministers for the king's approval.
