Typhoon Krosa lashes China
Typhoon Krosa lashed eastern China on Sunday, forcing the evacuation of more than 1.4 million people, the state news agency reported. The storm earlier hit Taiwan, leaving at least four people dead and 52 injured. After making landfall on eastern coastal China at Zhejiang and Fujian provinces, Krosa was downgraded to a tropical storm. The storm, with gale force winds and torrential rains, destroyed homes, cut power and disrupted road, sea and air travel, the Xinhau news agency reported.
