General elections in January: Aziz
 Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Wednesday that elections for the national and provincial assemblies would be held in the first week of January under a caretaker setup and predicted that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League (PML) and its allies would emerge victorious. I think the elections for national and provincial assemblies will be held in the first week of January, Aziz said while speaking at an Iftar-dinner arranged for journalists at Prime Ministers House.
