JI protests Waziristan killings
 Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) workers on Friday protested against the killing of civilians in an army operation in North Waziristan. JI chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad had called for the protest. Qazi, Liaqat Baloch and Ameerul Azeem addressed the participants. Qazi said hundreds of women and children had been forced to abandon their homes to safer locations due to the army operation. He said the war was not on terrorism, but was spreading terrorism across the world. He said the people used to raise slogans in favour of the Pakistan Army, but did not anymore. He said an army that could not protect its own soldiers could not protect the nation. JI naib ameer Liaqat Baloch said the nation supported the people of Waziristan and the tribal areas. He said the nation had no sympathy for those bombing them. He said the war was not being fought in Pakistans interest, but was being fought for President Pervez Musharraf.
