Police close 5 net cafés in Peshawar
The city police have closed five net cafés at Khyber Super Market in the Gulberg Police Station precincts, sources told Daily Times on Thursday. On Wednesday, police closed four net cafes at Kabbari Bazaar in the West Cantonment Police limits.

Cantonment Superintendent of Police (SP) Ijaz Khan told Daily Times that the net cafes had not been closed but asked to remove the cabins due to security concerns. He said that last night, sources tipped off the police about presence of bomb in a net café, adding that keeping in view the security situation, officials asked café owners to remove the cabins from their shops in order to avert any possible sabotage. He added that owners of most net café in Peshawar were also involved in pornography, which was why police asked them to remove the cabins. Two people were injured when a net café was bombed on November 11, while a man died in a net café blast in the Gulbahar area on November 13.
