Five rebels killed in Sri Lanka
A series of battles between Sri Lankan troops and separatist rebels in the volatile north killed five of the rebels, the military said Friday. The battles in the Vavuniya and Mannar districts brought the number of Tamil Tiger rebels killed Thursday to 15, according to military figures.
