Sri Lanka gov't to end cease-fire accord with Tamil Tigers
 NEW DELHI —The Sri Lankan government decided Wednesday to nullify a cease-fire agreement with the Tamil Tigers, reports from Colombo said. The agreement was reached in 2002 between the government and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam which are fighting for an independent state in northern and eastern Sri Lanka. The accord, brokered by Norway, virtually collapsed after Mahinda Rajapaksa became president in November 2005. More than 5,000 people have been killed in the fighting.
