PPP, PML-N to contest polls
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari said on Wednesday that the PPP would run in the February 18 polls. He told reporters after a joint meeting of the federal council and central executive committee that the government would be responsible for consequences if the polls were rigged. Separately, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Chairman Raja Zafarul Haq said his party opposed the new election schedule, adding that there were no grounds to delay the polls.
