Taleban kill 10 policemen in Afghan attack
KANDAHAR, Afghanistan - Taleban guerrillas killed 10 policemen on Sunday in a raid in southern Afghanistan, provincial officials said. The pre-dawn attack on the police post took place in a village in Maiwand district of Kandahar province, a stronghold of Taleban insurgents.Hours after the attack, a policeman was killed in a suicide raid aimed at a police officer in neighbouring Helmand province, a provincial official said.
