Police defuse bomb on Nawaz's convoy route
 Police defused a roadside time bomb just minutes before Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif was due to pass the spot here on Thursday, Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Imtiaz Shah told Daily Times on Thursday.The former premier was travelling in a convoy to address a lawyers convention and a political rally in Peshawar in connection with the February 18 general elections. He said, The NWFP police found the time bomb weighing 400 grams around 20 minutes before Nawazs caravan was to reach Suray Pul (bridge). The bomb was placed under the bridge. The police stopped the caravan near Gulbahar Chowk for 25 minutes because of security reasons. Imtiaz Shah said the bomb was without a detonator and was only meant to harass the people.
