Algeria attack: suicide bomber identified
The suicide bomber who blew himself up at a police station in Thenia (east of Algiers) on Tuesday has been identified as Mustapha Ben Abidi, according to official security sources. The 29-year-old man joined Al-Qaeda in November 2007. Since then, security forces had been searching for him, said the same sources. Mustapha Ben Abidi lives in the town of Zemouri (around 35 km east of Algiers). According to security corroborating sources, the identification of the suicide bomber was confirmed by a DNA test. Three people including two policemen were killed and 44 others were wounded in the attack.
