Beginning in March 1989, Edward Ryan wrote a series of letters in which he recounted some of his experiences in World War II. Mr Ryan was an engineer in the U.S. Army; he served in France and Germany, in Patton's Third Army, and was discharged with the rank of captain. . . .The letters are at the link.
