Task Force âAll Americanâ 12-20-2003
During the night, the 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment conducted vehicle traffic checkpoint operations, detaining four people. One vehicle approached Coalition Forces at a high rate of speed after passing clearly visible and well-lit signs designating the traffic control point (TCP). The soldiers then fired warning shots, which also failed to slow the vehicle. The vehicle was directly engaged, resulting in one individual being wounded who is being treated and detained and three others being detained.During the afternoon, soldiers within 3rd Brigadeâs area of operations were attacked by small arms fire and rocket-propelled grenades (RPG). A quick reaction force comprised of paratroopers from Task Force 1-505 responded to the engagement and cleared the area, capturing three enemy personnel and confiscating a RPG launcher.
