UN Welcomes Libyaâs Decision
The UN Security Council said Tuesday it welcomed Libyaâs decision to abandon weapons of mass destruction programs but stopped short of saying the move could serve as a model for other nations. In a statement, the council called for quick action and urgent verification of the Libyan pledge, which came Friday as Tripoli took another step towards ending its long years of isolation on the international stage.
