Madrassa vice principal killed in Karachi
Qari Abdul Malik, 40, the vice-principal of Ashraf-ul-Madaaris in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, was killed early Friday evening during a shoot-out within the jurisdiction of Mochko police station.

Three assailants in a white car bearing a license plate with the number 743 on it and no alphabets, targeted Qari Abdul Malik as he was returning home to Aun Apartments, Block-13, said DSP Shafi Rind. He was in his car (APR-836). The accused targeted him when he got to the main road of Ittehad Town and shot him seven times. He was rushed to Murshid Hospital by relatives and his body was later taken to Civil Hospital Karachi.

Qari Abdul Malik was nominated in the murder case of Muzammil (alias Chief), who was the brother of Muzaffar Bhutto, the central leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party-Shaheed Bhutto, said Rind. Muzammil was killed nearly four months ago.

The police registered FIR No. 53/08 on behalf of Qari Abdul Malik’s brother, Zubair, against unidentified men. Zubair stated in the FIR that this incident was related to the murder of Muzammil because there had been ongoing differences between Qari Abdul Malik and the PPP-SB over land.
