This morning in 3rd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Divisionâs area, soldiers with the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment conducted a joint cordon and search mission with the Al Haswah police. The operationâs objective was to capture personnel responsible for the recent attack on the Al Haswah Police Station. The operation was based on information provided by the local police and resulted in the capture of six enemy personnel and the confiscation of various small arms.In 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Divisionâs area, an Iraqi train en route to Habbaniyah was attacked with an RPG. The round impacted the locomotive and disabled the train. Soldiers from 1st Brigade responded to the attack and secured the site. When they arrived, the train was not on fire, but had been abandoned. The train was carrying concrete force protection barriers, which prevented looters from taking anything more than the engineâs batteries. The local police took control of the site yesterday evening. Soldiers from 1st Brigade discovered a cache east of Ar Ramadi. The site contained 24 RPG rounds, an RPG launcher, thousands of rounds of ammunition, and a box of explosives.
