Darfur death toll hits 300,000: UN
 The conflict in Darfur is getting worse, with the death toll rising to 300,000, the United Nations said Tuesday. The death toll in the five-year conflict in the Sudanese region had originally been pegged at 200,000. UN humanitarian chief John Holmes and Rodolphe Adada, the joint representative for the UN and African Union in Darfur, gave the grim report to the UN Security Council in New York City on Tuesday.
