Strike an attack on sovereignty: Ghani
NWFP Governor Owais Ahmed Ghani condemned a missile attack in the Bajaur Agency, calling it an attack on Pakistans sovereignty, according to a statement issued by Governors House. Two missiles hit a house in the Damadola area of the Bajaur Agency late on Wednesday, killing eight people. The governor called the killing of an eight-year-old boy in the attack deeply sad and highly deplorable incident, and offered his condolences to the boys bereaved family. The statement is the first official reaction to the Wednesdays airstrike. Such attacks undermined the public support for Pakistans role in the war on terror, Ghani said, adding that no government could function without public support, which, according to him, was vital for Pakistans continued role in the war on terror. A senior official told Daily Times that the governors reaction is official acknowledgement that the United States carried out the attack.
