PepsiCo Signs Deal with Iraqi Bottler
This is interesting news. I hope we see more deals like this in the near future.
NEW YORK (al-Reuters) - PepsiCo Inc. (PEP), the No. 2 soft drink company, said on Wednesday it signed a deal with Baghdad Soft Drinks Co. to bottle and distribute its products in Iraq.
Breaking in early to an emerging market is always a good move.
The deal calls for Baghdad Soft Drinks to bottle PepsiCoâs trademark Pepsi-Cola as well as its Seven-Up and Mirinda drinks. Baghdad Soft Drinks will distribute the products in central Iraq, home to about 40 percent of the countryâs population, starting in the first half of 2004.
