Policeman killed, 13 wounded in bombings in southern Thailand
One police officer was killed and 13 people wounded in two bombings in the deep South, reports from the region said on Sunday. A blast outside the Pattani police station killed one officer and wounded five others Saturday night, Thai News Agency reported. The bomb was hidden in a motorcycle that was parked opposite the police station. Officers said they believed the actual target was the nearby Red Cross Fair, but it had tight security. A second blast in Narathiwat Saturday wounded eight people including one Malaysian, TNA said.
