Palestinian militants fire rockets into Israel ahead of fragile lull
(Xinhua) -- Palestinian militants fired rockets into Israel early Wednesday, a day before an Egyptian-brokered shaky ceasefire takes effect between Hamas and Israel in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. The Islamic Jihad movement claimed responsibility for the attack which involved the firing of nine rockets into Sderot city in southern Israel. "The operation comes in retaliation for the Israeli aggressions against our people and to strengthen the choice of resistance," the group said in a statement sent to the media.
