LI says Christians kidnapped due to misunderstanding
The Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) militia of tribal warlord Mangal Bagh has said it released all the Christians kidnapped unconditionally and that their kidnapping from Academy Town, Peshawar on Saturday night, was the result of a misunderstanding. LI Bara ameer Haji Abdul Karim Afridi told reporters on Monday that the organisation regretted its actions. An informer had told their organisation that the people assembled in the house were engaged in vulgarity following which immediate action was taken against them but without the consent of an LI shura. Afridi said that they did not know the kidnap victims were Christian and when the organisation discovered the groups identity, they were released.
