Pakistan among top dysfunctional countries
Pakistan features among the worlds 10 most dysfunctional countries, according to an annual survey released on Monday.
The Failed States Index places Pakistan in the ninth slot moving it three notches up from its last years position as the 12th most failed state of the world.
Seven of the most dysfunctional countries are in sub-Saharan Africa, largely due to continuing conflict either in Somalia or in Sudans Darfur region.
The top 10, in order, are Somalia, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Chad, Iraq, Congo, Afghanistan, Ivory Coast, Pakistan and the Central African Republic. The index is compiled annually by the independent magazine Foreign Policy and Fund for Peace, an independent research organisation.
