Pankisi Gorge to be discussed at Russo-Georgian summit
The subject of Georgiaâs Pankisi Gorge (inhabited by Chechen citizens, and according to Russian special services, a hiding place for Chechen terrorists) may be raised at the upcoming Russian-Georgian summit, Russian presidential aide Sergei Yastrzhembsky reported at a press conference in Moscow. "No one doubts the presence of foreign mercenariesâ in Chechnya," Mr. Yastrzhembsky said. "Every terrorist that has been killed has entered Russia from Georgia and itâs a fact. All of them had Georgian tourist visas in their passports." Acting Georgian President Nino Burdzhanadze arrived in Moscow Wednesday morning on a working visit.
