Explosives seized from vehicle in Charsadda
Police seized a large quantity of explosives from a vehicle on Peshawar-Islamabad road in Charsadda on Thursday, but those inside the vehicle managed to escape the scene, Aaj TV reported. According to the channel the vehicle was stopped near the Charsadda interchange after it was caught by a tracking system. Police searched the vehicle and found 21 bombs, nine rockets, 15kg of explosives and four cylinders filled with explosive material. A bomb disposal squad later defused the devices. Police said the vehicle had been stolen, adding large-scale loss could have occurred if the devices had been detonated.
