Plan to place ISI under IM intact
The government has not shelved its plan to 'tame' the ISI as a notification to place the country's top intelligence organisation's internal security wing under the Interior Ministry (IM) is likely to be issued soon.A source close to PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari told Daily Times that a new notification would be issued soon to explain the "first one", which had created a lot of stir in the GHQ and the ISI. The government had issued a notification on July 26 to place the ISI under the "administrative, financial and operational" control of the Interior Division.
