Five militants held in Hangu
Police arrested five suspected militants and seized arms from their possession on Saturday. Hangu Police Superintendent Muhammad Arif Khan told a press conference that the police arrested a suspected militant from a house in the Tull area, which was raided following information that militants were patrolling the area. He said the police seized an AK-47 and ammunition from the suspect. Separately, two other suspected militants were arrested after a 30-minute exchange of fire between them and the police, which started after the suspects refused to stop their vehicles by a police checkpost and opened fire at the police. Three AK-47s, two pistols, two rocket launchers and ammunition were seized from them. Meanwhile, the police arrested two people from Hangu city and seized AK-47s from them.
