From Freeport, TX: Security Guard Shot At Area Ammonia Plant
A security guard at an ammonia plant in Freeport was shot Saturday morning after checking out a suspicious vehicle. A guard on patrol at the BASF plant noticed a pick-up truck parked where he didnât think it should be. He went to investigate and questioned the man in the truck. Thatâs when that man pulled a gun and fired. The guard ducked. The bullet hit him in the shoulder. The description of the suspect prompted Freeport police to contact homeland security, the FBI and DPS. The suspect sped off in a white pick-up truck with a black stripe. Freeeport police searched the area with a canine unit. That dog found gun powder on the scene and the bullet that was used in the shooting. The guard was shot through the shoulder.
