Jirga warns it will separate from Swat peace agreement
The Qaumi Amn Jirga (National Peace Council) of Swat warned on Friday it will distance itself from a peace agreement that it claims to have brokered between the security forces and Taliban if the military does not vacate Kooza Bandai within days. But ISPR spokesman in Swat Colonel Nadeem, said the peace agreement was made between the Taliban and the Amn Jirga. "We are not involved," he said. Security forces continued pounding Taliban hideouts on Friday, but no casualties were reported.
