Pirzada escapes beating from lawyers
Legal expert Sharifuddin Pirzada escaped a beating by lawyers at the Benazir Bhutto Airport in Islamabad on Sunday. A number of lawyers were present at the airport to receive sacked chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary, who was returning to Islamabad after visiting Karachi and Hyderabad. Upon receiving information that Pirzada was also present at the airport, a group of lawyers surrounded him and attempted to beat him. However, airport security officials immediately intervened to rescue Pirzada and escorted him out of the crowd. No complaint was lodged with the Airport Police Station. Posted by: Fred 2008-10-20 |
