Bomb explodes at Swedish hotel, 1 injured
A homemade bomb exploded Tuesday at a hotel in the central Swedish city of Vasteras, seriously injuring one person, police said.Police spokesman Per Stromback described the bomb as a homemade device that used gunpowder. He said it went off in the kitchen of a hotel near the Vasteras airport just after 9 p.m. (2000 GMT), causing a small fire that was quickly put out. The building was evacuated, Stromback said. News agency TT reported that the injured person was a student trying to build a bomb in the kitchen of the hotel, which was being used as a dormitory for students at a local high school.
