Austrian 'Horror House' Dad Charged With Murder
VIENNA, Austria -- Austrian prosecutors say the man accused of imprisoning his daughter for 24 years and fathering her seven children has been charged with murder. The state attorney's office says it has charged suspect Josef Fritzl with homicide because one of the children died in infancy. Prosecutors say experts believe the infant might have survived if Fritzl had arranged for proper medical care.The 73-year-old retired electrician also was charged Thursday with rape, incest, false imprisonment and slavery. Fritzl's trial is expected to begin early in 2009. His daughter, now 42, and several children were released in April and have been getting counseling at an undisclosed location.
