Ammo, explosives found in Missan
Aswat al-Iraq: Police forces in Missan province on Wednesday discovered large amounts of ammunition and explosives in downtown Amara city, a local police source said. "Emergency police forces have seized four hand grenades, an improvised explosive device (IED) and other ammunition during a raid in central Amara city," Col. Sadeq Abdelazeem al-Halw told Aswat al-Iraq. Since June 2008, Iraqi security sources have been conducting a wide-scale security operation, called Bashaer al-Salam (Promise of Peace), in Missan with the aim of tracking down armed groups and outlaws in the province.Posted by: Fred 2008-11-27 |
