At least 12 killed in Baghdad mosque blast
 (AKI) - At least 12 people were killed and 18 others injured in a suicide bomb attack outside a mosque south of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on Friday. A suicide bomber wearing an explosives belt attacked the mosque just before Friday prayers in al-Musayab, a district in the mainly Shia province of Babel, 60 kilometres south of Baghdad. The mosque is used mainly by Shia Muslim worshippers who follow radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr. Al-Sadr is reported to be strongly opposed to the new security pact passed by the Iraqi Parliament this week.Posted by: Fred 2008-11-29 |
