19 killed, dozens injured in double bombing in Iraq
(SomaliNet) At least 19 people have been killed and dozens injured in a double bombing in Fallujah in Iraq. Two police stations were rammed by vehicles packed with explosives.Fallujah in Anbar province was known as a stronghold of Sunni rebels but the town has recently seen an improvement in security. The improved situation led to Iraqi authorities taking over power in Fallujah from United States forces. Similar handovers of power have taken place in most other Iraqi provinces and it has been agreed that US troops will withdraw from Iraq by 2011 at the latest. The withdrawal security accord agreed by the US and Iraq has now been approved by the presidential council, comprising President Jalal Talabani and the two vice presidents.
