Girls' schools in Swat to reopen on March 1, says Sherry
The federal and NWFP government will use their powers to ensure that the girls' schools affected by the Taliban in Swat are reopened by March 1, Information Minister Sherry Rehman said on Sunday.Talking to reporters in Karachi, she said the government would also ensure protection of all female students in Swat and all other restive areas. "We will try our best to reopen the girls' schools and we will try to give the girls confidence. We have to show them a ray of hope," the minister said, AP reported. "Along with our ally in the NWFP, the Awami National Party, we will get the girls schools reopened.
