The tourism industry in Pakistan has been severely affected by terrorism, as foreign countries and international airlines have branded Pakistan an 'unsafe destination', Parliamentary Affairs Minister Babar Awan told the National Assembly on Monday during the question hour. Replying to a question by Hanif Abbasi of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Babar told the House on the Tourism Ministry's behalf that October 2008 was the worst month in terms of revenue generated from tourism after the Marriot blast.
