Special Groups leader detained in Wassit
 Aswat al-Iraq: A force from the Quick Response Department (QRD) arrested the leader of a Special Groups cell during a raid on his house in southern Wassit province on Friday, a security source said. "The Interior Ministry's QRD force on Friday (Jan. 23) raided a house in al-Hay district in south of Kut, arresting Mohamed al-Zameli, a leader of a Special Groups cell," Major Aziz Latief told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. "Al-Zameli is a leader of a Special Groups that come from Iran. He is suspected of involvement in killing and kidnapping civilians," he said, adding the raid was conducted based on intelligence tip-offs.
