N. Korea ended state-sponsored drug smuggling in 2002: U.N. drug czar
While there is evidence of a ''major inflow'' of suspicious drugs from North Korea into other countries in the 1980s and 1990s, that practice ''basically ended'' in 2002, the United Nations' drug czar said in a recent interview. ''In the past few years there has been no evidence of anything of that sort,'' Antonio Maria Costa, executive director of the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime, told Kyodo News.
