48 suspects arrested in connection with armed attack
Aswat al-Iraq: Joint security forces have arrested 48 suspects throughout the past 24 hours following an armed attack that targeted a police officer in Jalawlaa district, according to a police source. "A force from the emergency police and the Iraqi army carried out search raids in the neighborhoods of Mahafeez, al-Shuhadaa, Jalawlaa district (30 km southwest of Khanaqin)," the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. Earlier today, several Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) members were arrested in connection with the attack, but were released later in the day.
