Minnesota: Judges order 400 absentee ballots opened
Three Minnesota judges today decided that 400 absentee ballots should be opened or examined to determine if they are valid for counting in the long-running U.S. Senate race. "To be clear, not every absentee ballot identified in this order will ultimately be opened and counted," the judges wrote. The ballots that do make it through to counting will be opened and sorted on April 7, the judges ordered. Democrat Al Franken currently has a 225-vote lead over Republican Norm Coleman in the race.
