U.S., Yemen Hold Joint Exercise
Yemen and the United States plan to hold a major military exercise. The military exercise will take place on Saturday in Aden and come under the direction of U.S. Central Command. Yemeni sources said Central Command chief Gen. John Abizaid will oversee the exercise and also meet senior officials to discuss military and security cooperation. The exercise will include air, ground and naval forces and marks increased military cooperation between Sanaa and Washington. [....] It was not clear what assets would be contributed by Yemen and the United States. On Sunday, Yemen received eight naval vessels for Sanaaâs new coast guard.
