EU suspends co-operation with Mauritania
[Maghrebia] The European Union on Monday (April 6th) officially suspended co-operation with Mauritania for two years, international press reported. "Without a consensus and a return to constitutional order, there is no possibility of any substantial resumption of EU-Mauritanian co-operation," the EU Council said in a statement. Regular monitoring missions will be sent to the country during the 24-month period to assess progress towards the return of constitutional order.
