UN chief calls Swat flogging unacceptable
UNITED NATIONS: Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Tuesday said the flogging of a girl in Pakistan was unacceptable and the chief justice had taken the right decision to launch an investigation.While I appreciate different systems and traditions in different countries, respecting and upholding basic human rights this is most important, Ban told reporters. These are universally accepted and upheld principles which we must respect.
