Gilani says govt committed to rooting out terrorism
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Thursday reiterated the governments commitment to eliminate terrorism and renewed his offer of dialogue to those who laid down arms.
Addressing a delegation of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE), he warned that the government would strictly deal with those who tried to challenge its writ. The prime minister said the government was working on a three-pronged strategy of corrosion dialogue, corruption deterrence and capitulation development to counter terrorism.
He said the country was facing external and internal threats and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government inherited a fragile situation fraught with challenges of terrorism, economic weakness, political instability and energy crunch.
Gilani said the elimination of terrorists and terrorism was the governments priority.
